Fiscal Irresponsibilty Reins Supreme with Obama Administration
- Scott Miller
Let’s take a look at our current federal government finances:
- Obama 2009 Budget projects a $1.75 TRILLION dollar deficit
- As of June 2, 2009, the federal debt stands at $11,382,737,715,925, that’s over $11 TRILLION in case you’ve never seen so many digits strung together like that.
- Obama’s Administration projects that our total federal debt load will double to $20 TRILLION over the next 6 years
- Obama projects that his spending plans will take the federal debt to 100% of America’s GDP (gross domestic product), or the value of everything produced by our economy. A level that hasn’t been seen since 1940’s.
- The federal government has another $53+ TRILLION in unfunded obligations created by our massive social welfare programs and lavish public pension programs…. that $53 TRILLION is in addition to the federal debt
- That means that our total debt and funding obligations stand at an incomprehensible $73+ TRILLION
So any normal, rational thinking adult, looking at these staggering numbers would start to do some serious budgetary reforms, and start drastically cutting federal spending across the board (save our national defense)… but not the Obama administration.
Instead, they set out to nationalize another 17% of our economy with a massive new socialized medicine healthcare entitlement. An new entitlement that will cost us another $3.2 TRILLION over the next 10 years. Here are some highlights of the rank irresponsibility of the party of Statists (aka Democrats) when it comes to their socialized medicine plan:
Several officials said the Congressional Budget Office had issued a cost estimate of $1.6 trillion, with only about $560 billion paid for. They spoke on condition of anonymity, saying the matter was confidential
Question: These central planners in government are scheming to spend a ton more of our money, and their plans are “confidential”? Talk about arrogance and gall!
Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., said that with cost estimates coming in so high, “It is clear there have got to be changes made to make the whole package affordable.”
Sen. Conrad, the government is BROKE! We can’t afford the pot you piss in, let alone a massive new entitlement program… a program that will include free healthcare for illegal aliens! Wake the F-up!
At the Senate Health panel, officials said that after penciling in subsidies for families with incomes as high as $110,000, or 500 percent of the federal poverty level, they would limit the help to families up to $88,000 in income, or 400 percent of the poverty level
Subsidies for families making over 100 Grand?!! Are these people freakin’ nuts? Why the hell would some poor waitress be subsidizing a family making over $100K? How stupid is that? 500% of the federal poverty level? Have we become this much of a pansy-nation? Where we expect momma government to take care of our every little need? $100k… pay for your own damn health insurance! Don’t reach into my pocket to pay for your healthcare… if you can’t take care of your family’s health, then you shouldn’t be having kids in the first damn place.
Now some of you may say, “but Scott, that article says Obama’s healthcare plan will be $1.6 trillion, not $3.2 trillion”. Folks, if you haven’t learned by now, you need to take every figure that the politicians give you, and at least double it to get to what will be the true cost of any government program.
Just look at the Medicare program created by the socialists in 1965… in 1965 the government projected that medicare, in the year 2003, would cost taxpayers $26 billion a year; the actual cost came in at… get this… $245 billion, or 10 times what the politicians promised…. still want 535 central planners in Washington DC taking over your healthcare?

Government to Give Our Money to ChiComs in Name of Global Warming Farce
America is up to its neck in debt to the communist Chinese. But apparently that’s no reason for the government not to give them our money for free in the name of the preposterous global warming hoax: U.S. Special Envoy…

The False Promises of a Demagogue
- Scott Miller
Uh-oh… what happened to Super-O? According to Pravda (our MSM) all he had to do was say the word, and the seas would part, the economy would be tamed, and we’d be on the road to full employment in no time… that’s all we heard from the media when they were ramming though the so-called stimulus plan, right?
In fact according to the Obamarxist himself, he said that if Congress passed his $1.3 boondoggle spending plan, the unemployment rate wouldn’t go higher than 8%.
Well, Congress passed the porkulus bill, and we learned last week that the unemployment rate has jumped to 9.4%
But, but, but… wait… I thought The One said that the unemployment rate wouldn’t get past 8% if we put $1.3 trillion on big government’s credit card.. what the heck is going on here?
Well Obama tried to explain today… this from the AP:
Obama repackages stimulus plans with old promises
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama assured the nation his recovery plan was on track Monday, scrambling to calm Americans unnerved by unemployment rates still persistently rising nearly four months after he signed the biggest economic stimulus in history.
Obama admitted his own dissatisfaction with the progress but said his administration would ramp up stimulus spending in the coming months. The White House acknowledged it has spent only $44 billion, or 5 percent, of the $787 billion stimulus, but that total has always been expected to rise sharply this summer.
“Now we’re in a position to really accelerate,” Obama said.
He also repeated an earlier promise to create or save 600,000 jobs by the end of the summer.
Neither the acceleration nor the jobs goal are new. Both represent a White House repackaging of promises and projects to blunt criticism that the effects haven’t been worth the historic price tag. And the job estimate is so murky, it can never be verified.
The economy has shed 1.6 million jobs since the stimulus measure was signed in February, far overshadowing White House announcements estimating the effort has saved 150,000 jobs. Public opinionof Obama’s handling of the economy has declined along with the jobs data.
For the first time, the administration admitted the economic forecasts it used to sell the stimulus were overly optimistic.
“At the time, our forecast seemed reasonable,” Vice President Joe Biden’s top economic adviser, Jared Bernstein, said Monday, explaining that the White House underestimated the scope of the recession. “Now, looking back, it was clearly too optimistic.”
By now, according to earlier White House economic models, the nation’s unemployment rate should be on the decline. The forecasts used to drum up support for the plan projected today’s unemployment would be about 8 percent. Instead, it sits at 9.4 percent, the highest in more than 25 years.
Some analysts believe the White House is still not being realistic, that Obama will be lucky if any real job creation from his recovery effort is seen by the end of the year, let alone the employment explosion he predicts.
“I think these estimates are overly optimistic,” said Arpitha Bykere, a senior analyst with RGE Monitor.
Obama spoke Monday about “modest progress” in the economy, citing fewer jobs lost last month than expected. He said he hopes to build on that in the months ahead with stimulus programs.
“We’ve done more than ever, faster than ever, more responsibly than ever, to get the gears of the economy moving again,” he said.
But he acknowledged, “I’m not satisfied. We’ve got more work to do.”
Americans apparently agree. Obama’s disapproval rating on the economy has risen from 30 percent in February to 42 percent, according to a Gallup pollcompleted May 31. Sensing weakness on a signature issue of Obama’s presidency, congressional Republicans are renewing their criticisms that the stimulus plan has not shown results, only mounting debt.
“This is President Obama’s economy, and his administration must provide results and specifics rather than vague descriptions of success that seem to change by the week,” House Republican Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia said. “The administration looks dramatically out of touch as they highlight the creation of temporary summer employment in the face of job losses unseen in decades, record unemployment and massive deficits.”
“Overly optimistic”… folks this is the same old crap sandwich that the politicians feed the American people time and time again. They paint a rosy scenario…that big government is the answer to the problem… if you just turn over a little more of your liberty… a little more of your money… everything will be AOK. As frustrating as it is for me to sit here and say, “I told ya so” … it’s even more frustrating to watch a majority of the American people fall for the stupid lines by the same stupid politicians over and over again.
By the way, what is this “We’ve done more than ever, faster than ever, more responsibly than ever, to get the gears of the economy moving again”? That is nothing but complete and total BS! The only thing that they have done more than ever, faster than ever, is grow the size of government.
And that’s the key here… what the statists fails to understand is that government doesn’t produce anything. Every dollar government spends has to be taken from the productive private sector. Anyone with a little economic common sense can clearly see that when government spends our money, that not one single private sector productive job is created… instead they create government jobs that have to be paid for by the private sector… that never go away whether they are needed or not.
If Obama really wanted to create productive jobs in this country, he would be rescinding the so-called stimulus bill. He’d be dramatically cutting the size and cost of government. He’d be lowering taxes on capital formation. He’d be lowering taxes on the American people, as they will spend their money much more productively than any government can. He’d eliminate corporate income taxes, which is really just a back-door tax on consumers.
There is plenty that Obama could do to get the economy going again and creating jobs gaian… but he’s really not interested.

A few new developments, none of them good. One – Obama has indicated his willingness to entertain legislation that would tax your private health care benefits. What that means is you’ll be taxed on the money your employer spends on…

Obama’s New Car Tax: That’s $1,300 More Per Car You’ll Be Paying
- Scott Miller
I don’t remember Obama promising to raise the cost of the average car by $1,300 if he was elected… do you? But that is exactly what he proposed today this from the AP:
Obama takes aim at climate-warming car emissions
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama took aim at climate-warming greenhouse gases on Tuesday and ordered the struggling auto industry to make more fuel-efficient cars under tough new national standards to cut emissions and increase gas mileage.
Growing public support for efforts to battle climate change and the weakened state of the U.S. auto industry, which is staying afloat through federal bailouts and restructuring at the government’s direction, gave Obama a window of opportunity to impose the rules.
First of all, what a dumb-ass headline… I like mine much better. This is not at all about “climate change”. This is all about government control over another sector of our economy with a bunch of no-nothing politicians central planning our lives away.
Secondly, these lib-hacks at Pravda just make crap up to try to propagandize to the average American. There is no evidence of ”growing support for efforts to battle climate change”, but that doesn’t stop the dumb-ass reporter from pulling that out of his fat keister. In fact the exact opposite is true. This from Rassmussen:
The new survey also finds that 39% of voters believe global warming is caused by human activity, up from 34% in April. However, 44% say long-term planetary trends are most to blame for global warming. Last month, 48% cited this reason.
Despite the rise in voters who say human activity is to blame, the overall results represent a complete reversal from a year ago, when 47% blamed human activity and only 34% blamed planetary trends.
Then we have Obama today promising that you will pay an extra $1,300 for your next car, which will be an equavalent of a modified golf cart:
The plan was praised by automakers, environmentalists and an array of politicians, but it will mean higher price tags for consumers. The new program will add about $1,300 to the price of producing a vehicle.
Obama said car buyers would recoup the money with the lower fuel costs realized under more efficient mileage standards.
“Over the life of a vehicle, the typical driver would save about $2,800 by getting better gas mileage,” he said.
Boy those central planner in the White House are brilliant are they not… “hey, hey Rahm! I’ve got a great idea! Who cares if auto sales are down 50% from last year, lets raise the cost of a car by $1,300!… It’ll be great… the eco-commies will love us!”
So you pay $1,300 more NOW, and get the promise of a politician that it’ll save you more than that over the life of the car…. because they are just so good about predicting the future cost of things right? Guess this gang never heard of the old saying “A bird in the hand (keeping my $1,300 thanks very much), is worth two in the bush (supposed saving down the road). “
