Whale Wars -vs- Baby Wars
Recently I watched a show on the Discovery channel – called “Whale Wars”. The show documents the fight of the Sea Sheppard’s aboard the S.S. Steve Irwin (Glorious) against the Chinese Whale Hunters. The Sea Sheppard’s will stop at nothing to stop the senseless killing of the whales. Some of the heroic actions include ramming the S.S. Steve Irwin into the side of the Chinese vessels, throwing chemicals onto the deck, helicopter flyby’s, etc… As I watched the show that depicted the Sea Sheppard’s as heroes for fighting against the whale murdering Chinese – I wondered why the individuals that fight against the senseless murdering of thousands of unborn babies are viewed so differently.

The Whalewars series is an illegal act of Americans against other sovereign nations. Whether you agree with it or not, harvesting whales is legal…even in America, remember? Whales can be killed by Native Americans in Alaska and off the west coast.
Whales cannot be murdered.

the point isn’t if the Chinese are murdering whales or not – the point was that I doubt the Discovery Chanel would show Pro-Life protesters in the same positive light that they are showing the Sea Sheppard’s – Both are fighting against what they see as senseless murder.
How about we get this right, they are Japanese Whalers. If you are going to try to post facts, get them right before you open your mouth.
The Sea Sheppards are heroes to alot of people. They are not trying to hurt the Japanese whalers, they are trying to hurt their pocket books, so they can not afford to kill these animals anymore. In fact they are very adamant about aiming their counter measures away from the people that are hunting for the whales. On one show they even offered help in a search for an overboard member of one of the whale killing ships.
I commend them on their semi peacefull way of doing stuff. I would love to take a trip with them and help defend the whales. Mind you I am not some PITA member, but I do believe that we need to stop killing whales so many of our generations are able to see them.
The Japanese hide under Research as their reason for killing the whales, but it is very odd they pull them directly onto their Factory ship, gut the whale, take the meat and blubber, and throw the rest overboard. If you watch the second to the last show of this last season you will see how whales are killed, and it is seriously messed up.
the natives of alaska are allowed to hunt whales because of a cultural tradition, but it is not even close to the amount of whales the japanese kill. the japanese have caused many species of whale in the southern ocean to be endangered.
